In a nutshell
Nice to meet you. We are Kite Robotics, founded 10 years ago as a spin-off from the University of Twente. Today, we operate from our own facility in Oldenzaal, complete with offices, a test lab, and a workshop. What do we do? We create facade cleaning robots that ensure buildings are cleaned quickly, safely, sustainably, and at low cost.
Since our founding, we’ve had one clear goal: to deliver exceptional products that turn customers into ambassadors. We provide systems for existing buildings and advise clients on new construction projects during the design phase, ensuring they have a cleaning solution perfectly tailored to their building.
While we primarily operate in Europe, we are also working on several projects outside Europe.

In-house design, assembly and installation
- Design
- Manufacturing
- Installation
At Kite Robotics, we design and develop all of our systems in-house, from the robots to the anchor points. We don’t rely on external products, which means we have all the expertise needed and a deep understanding of our solutions. This allows us to offer targeted advice and actively collaborate with our clients—something they greatly appreciate.
Parts are produced according to our specifications by trusted, local suppliers. Quality control, assembly, and factory acceptance testing are then carried out internally, giving us complete oversight of the entire process.
We handle the installation and commissioning of the robots on-site. After thorough training, our clients can operate the robots independently. However, if preferred, we can also provide full operational support to ensure peace of mind.
Reviews
Read what our clients have to say.
“We used to experience the window cleaning of our buildings as a long-term job. With KITE Robotics, it goes a lot faster, it saves costs, while maintaining quality. In addition, we find the environmentally conscious and sustainable character important.”
University of Twente
“The poor accessibility of the canopy and the cost savings we achieve during the operational phase were key factors in our decision to choose the KITE cleaning robot.
Increasing the cleaning frequency is also much easier, resulting in a cleaner environment for travelers.”

Our team consists of experts with deep knowledge and experience in robotics and building maintenance. We are ready to advise our clients and provide optimal solutions for every project.
Time for change
Today, nearly every building facade worldwide is cleaned by hand. Window cleaning has become increasingly labor intensive, dangerous and expensive. As buildings become smarter and more advanced, traditional cleaning methods simply aren’t keeping up. They all involve working at dangerous heights, with limitations on how high you can reach and permit restrictions in urban areas.
With the increasing regulations regarding safe work at heights, manual window cleaning is expected to become increasingly challenging.
Across various industries, robots are emerging to handle physically demanding, repetitive and dangerous tasks. Within the next 10 years, automatic glass and facade cleaning will likely become the new standard.
