Façade Maintenance and Window Cleaning Systems in Action

Lomanlaan in Utrecht

Syntrus Achmea Real Estate and Rebo have selected the Kite Robotics window cleaning robot to clean two residential towers with 119 apartments in Utrecht. What was once done manually is now efficiently and safely handled by our robot. The robot requires just a few anchor points on the roof, making it easy to integrate into existing buildings, leaving plenty of space for solar panels or other installations on the roof.

With the window cleaning robot, cleaning can be done more frequently, eliminating the need for anyone to work at heights. Additionally, the robot ensures that no one can peek inside, enhancing privacy and improving tenant satisfaction for the residents.

Sustainable Window Cleaning for RIVM with Robots

The exterior of the RIVM and CBG buildings is autonomously cleaned by the KITE Robot. With its minimal footprint, the window cleaning robot helps meet BREEAM qualifications. BREEAM sets stringent standards for management, health, comfort, energy, transport, water, materials, waste, land use, ecology, and pollution.

Specifically designed for high-rise window and façade cleaning, the KITE Robot operates fully autonomously, eliminating the need for human intervention. This automated system ensures safer working conditions and cleaner buildings. The rotating brush effortlessly cleans the windows and facades of the RIVM, delivering optimal results.

“Sustainability, Efficiency, and Safety Are Key Factors in Our System Selection”

Alexander Schütte, Municipality of Utrecht:

“The poor accessibility of the canopy and the cost savings we achieve during the operational phase were key factors in our decision to choose the KITE cleaning robot.

Increasing the cleaning frequency is also much easier, resulting in a cleaner environment for travelers.”

The KITE Robot uses a connection point at the top of the building to supply the brush with demineralized water. (Demineralized water is specially filtered tap water with a proven, powerful cleaning effect.)

The robot cleans the canopy above the stairs leading from the Utrecht CS station hall to the new tram line. Utrecht Central is the largest train station in the Netherlands, serving over 170,000 passengers and 900 trains daily.

At an early stage, the Municipality of Utrecht prioritized smart maintenance. With the KITE Robotics system, cleaning is done safely and efficiently without disrupting passengers, ensuring they can continue their journey in comfort.

“High-Quality Sustainable Technology that Matches the Camelot Real Estate Vision”

Camelot Campus 053 consists of a residential complex with 441 independent student studios, including a lounge-waiting room, sports/game area, and a real cinema. The KITE Robotics technology is used here to clean the hard-to-reach windows. The robot does not have cameras and, therefore, does not look inside, allowing guests to enjoy a stay with increased privacy and a permanently ‘clear’ view.

Park Phi, Office North Located at Zuiderval in Enschede

Schröder Vastgoed has developed Park Phi, which consists of three modern office buildings. Sustainability and user comfort are central to the design of these buildings and the layout of the surrounding grounds.

Park Phi was one of the first buildings in the Netherlands to receive a BREEAM label, a certification for sustainable real estate. The KITE Robotics system was chosen for its efficiency and sustainability, aligning with the building’s green credentials.

“With KITE Robotics, it goes a lot faster, at lower costs but with the same quality”

“We used to experience the window cleaning of our buildings as a long-term job. With KITE Robotics, it goes a lot faster while maintaining quality. Additionally, we appreciate the environmentally conscious and sustainable nature of the system. At first, it seemed like a considerable investment, but we quickly earned this back.”

“Furthermore, it is much safer, and there’s no need for large constructions on the roof. The robot only requires four anchor points, leaving more space on the roof for solar panels, for example. In the future, we certainly plan to use the robot on more of our buildings.”
